In 2004, amongst other comedies like Road Trip, Eurotrip, Grandma's Boy, Super Troopers came this comedy starring Dax Shephard, Seth Green and Matthew Lillard that started amazingly and then went... a little off the rails. Jeremy joins MC and Spro for this episode to talk A LOT about Poop, Friendship and how Without a Paddle could have been the basis for Stand By Me 2.

Basic (2003)
Tuesday Apr 02, 2024
Tuesday Apr 02, 2024
MC and Spro continue Year 6 with one of Spro's most liked under-the-radar films.
Basic reunites John Travolta and Samuel L. Jackson on the screen for the first time since their Pulp Fiction days. Critics hated this film because they didn't understand it, but Spro hopes to explain it so the SCC audience can grasp how John McTiernan's (Die Hard) last film isn't filled with twists and turns but rather just manipulative lies.
This episode proves that Basic isn't complicated. It's as simple as this grammatically incorrect statement:
Wings is bad.

316 - A Celebration of Bruce Willis
Friday Aug 25, 2023
Friday Aug 25, 2023
Walter Bruce Willis (born March 19, 1955) is an American former actor. He achieved fame with a leading role on the comedy-drama series Moonlighting (1985–1989) and has appeared in over a hundred films, gaining recognition as an action hero after his portrayal of John McClane in the Die Hard franchise (1988–2013) and other roles.[1][2]
Willis's other credits include The Bonfire of the Vanities (1990), Hudson Hawk (1991), Pulp Fiction (1994), 12 Monkeys (1995), The Fifth Element (1997), Armageddon (1998), The Sixth Sense (1999), Unbreakable (2000), Tears of the Sun (2003), Lucky Number Slevin (2006), Surrogates (2009), Moonrise Kingdom (2012) and Motherless Brooklyn (2019). In the later years of his career, Willis starred in many low-budget direct-to-video films, which were poorly received. In March 2022, Willis's family announced that he was retiring after suffering from aphasia. In February 2023, he was diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia.
As a singer, Willis released his debut album, The Return of Bruno, in 1987, followed by two more albums in 1989 and 2001. He made his Broadway debut in the stage adaptation of Misery in 2015. Willis has received various accolades throughout his career, including a Golden Globe Award, two Primetime Emmy Awards, and two People's Choice Awards. He received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2006. Films featuring Willis have grossed between US$2.64 billion and US$3.05 billion at North American box offices, making him in 2010 the eighth-highest-grossing leading actor.

Friday Aug 18, 2023
Several years ago, Second Chance Cinema Host and S.C.C. Guest Host Jeremy were sitting at work and came up with a brain exercise of picking the four best things in a pop culture category. Years later, they invited Spro and Rudy to join them and nominate, dissect, debate and elect their choices.
To introduce the second season of The Mount Rushmore Podcast (recorded between Second Chance Cinemas 2nd and 3rd seasons,) we came up with a crossover idea of trying to figure out which of the movies we covered are the 4 best.
If you like Second Chance Cinema, go over to The Mount Rushmore Podcast and give it a follow!

315 - TMNT 2007
Friday Aug 18, 2023
Friday Aug 18, 2023
TMNT is a 2007 computer-animated superhero film written and directed by Kevin Munroe (in his feature directorial debut). It is the fourth theatrical Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles film and a standalone sequel to Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles III (1993).[6] The first animated film in the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles franchise, it features an ensemble voice cast including Chris Evans, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Mako, Kevin Smith, Patrick Stewart, and Ziyi Zhang with narration by Laurence Fishburne. In the film, after having grown apart following the final defeat of their arch-enemy, the Shredder, the four Turtles — Leonardo, Raphael, Donatello, and Michelangelo (voiced respectively by James Arnold Taylor, Nolan North, Mitchell Whitfield, and Mikey Kelley) — are set to reunite and overcome their faults to save the world from evil ancient creatures.
A computer-animated Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles film was first announced in 2000, with John Woo supposedly directing, but the project languished in development hell, and Woo ultimately moved on to other projects. The choice to do the film in CGI instead of live action like the prior Turtles films was to have audiences suspend their beliefs easier as well as to save budget. When writing TMNT, Munroe wanted to divert away from the lighthearted elements of the franchise and put a heavier emphasis on the darker tone of the original comics. The animators that worked on the fight sequences were inspired by Hong Kong action films.
TMNT was released theatrically in the United States on March 23, 2007, by Warner Bros. Pictures, and in Hong Kong, on March 29 by Gold Scene. The film received mixed reviews from critics, but it was a small commercial success, grossing over $95 million worldwide against a budget of $34 million. Planned sequels were cancelled after Nickelodeon acquired the franchise in 2009, rebooting the film series with the live-action film Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles in 2014.

314 - Hancock
Friday Aug 18, 2023
Friday Aug 18, 2023
Hancock is a 2008 American superhero film directed by Peter Berg from a screenplay by Vince Gilligan and Vy Vincent Ngo and co-produced by and starring Will Smith in the title role with Charlize Theron and Jason Bateman.
The story was originally written by Vy Vincent Ngo in 1996. It languished in development hell for years with various directors attached, including Tony Scott, Michael Mann (who would later co-produce the film), Jonathan Mostow, and Gabriele Muccino, before being filmed in 2007 in Los Angeles with a production budget of $150 million.
In the United States, the film was rated PG-13 by the Motion Picture Association of America after changes were made at their request in order to avoid an R rating, which it had received twice before. The film was released on July 2, 2008, in the United States by Columbia Pictures. Hancock received mixed reviews from critics who praised its humor, performances, visual effects and premise, but criticized its execution and failure to deliver on its potential, especially during its second half. It grossed $629 million worldwide, becoming the fourth highest-grossing film of 2008.
ABAB Poetry--
"So, huh, Hancock came out in 2008?
You would think after Will Smith's 2022
I bet he wished he did this today...
Could have gotten some character reconstruction, dude." - Spro
"Hancock was a jerk.
A superhero with no class.
Fighting crime with a smirk,
shoving head into ass." - MC
"Will Smith played a drunk hero.
Who doesn't know Charlize is his equal.
The fucks he gives equals zero.
Dammit, this movie deserved a sequel." - Rudy

Friday Aug 18, 2023
Sudden Death is a 1995 American action-thriller film directed by Peter Hyams and starring Jean-Claude Van Damme, Powers Boothe, Raymond J. Barry and Dorian Harewood.[3] The film pits a lone fire marshal against extortionists who hold unsuspecting NHL players and fans for ransom during game seven of the Stanley Cup Finals, and set payment milestones to coincide with the game's progress.[4] It was Hyams' second directorial collaboration with Van Damme, after Timecop (1994) and before Enemies Closer (2013).[5]
Sudden Death was released in the United States on December 22, 1995 to mixed reviews, albeit better than most of Van Damme's earlier efforts.[6][7] It was a minor success, grossing $64 million at the box office on an announced budget of $35 million.[1][2] However, it fell short of Timecop's performance, especially domestically.[8]
