Watched alongside our friend Conor, the movie sends Jason Voorhees into space, surrounds him with soldiers, scientists, an android, and plenty of futuristic victims, and somehow manages to become what might actually be the third-best Jason movie in the entire long, celebrated (or perhaps not-so-celebrated) series.

Things take an unexpected turn when we begin imagining a very different ending: What if the nanotechnology had actually fixed Jason? What if it restored him as a completely ordinary man, played by Steve Carell, who suddenly had to live with the trauma and guilt of ten movies’ worth of murder?
